Story Hour Idea
At these unique and fun story hours, children play and learn through stories and movement.
From the Wiggly Warm-Up to the Story Theater to the Critter Cool-Down, children are moving their bodies while learning poetry, Spanish, healthy eating habits, peace and character education, and nature education.
Fall 2010/Spring 2011 Stories
September - November - Bina the Ant - an Aesop's tale about not judging a book by it's cover.
December -February - The Magic Pear Tree - a story from china about non-greed and giving.
March - May - The Treasure in the Earth - a story from Greece about respecting the earth.
Programs are appropriate for pre-school story times and K-5 classrooms.
For more information about the curriculum of each program, the program cost , or to schedule a Wiggle Worms Story Hour(s) at your library or school, please contact Scottie Bruch, 605-490-7972 or scottiebruch@yahoo.com.
Scottie is a former middle school teacher and public librarian, a mom to tow young children, a certified Storytime Yoga teacher, and an outdoor enthusiasti! She has been telling stories and getting kids to move their bodies since 2007.
Book theft
Without a security system how do you prevent people from walking out with your books?
I am thinking about banning book bags.
The worst thefts have been the school yearbooks. Without putting them behind locked doors & making the individuals check them out to look at them at a table in front of me, I don't know how to protect them.
Any ideas?
